SELLER SAYS

One of the things we love about the Candler area is that it allows for country living within a 20 minute drive of a small, vibrant city. You get the best of both worlds. We love to eat at the Stone Ridge Tavern for it's delicious cuisine and rustic setting. We also enjoy the Texas Roadhouse near Biltmore Village.

We made Christmas special, with a quick trip to the Grove Park Inn. The weekends are a great time to eat at the Pisgah Inn along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Grocery stores are plentiful and packed with everything you could need. The super Ingles recently built off Sandhill Road in Candler is perfect for a quick stop on the way home for supper or for a grocery haul. Starbucks is partnered with Ingles, so you will always have somewhere to get your daily dose of caffeine.

When we bought the property we were drawn to the lovely view of the Appalachian Mountains. We fell in love with the view and decided to build our home there. The Asheville area is wonderful because it has something to offer everyone. Asheville is packed with museums, art, theater, nature trails, cuisines from all over the world, and still maintains its small town charm.

A few other things that I can mention are the abundance of wildlife, which is perfect for people with an interest in activities like bird watching. The property has several flower beds and plenty of potential for those with a green thumb. There is also a nature trail that leads into the wooded area off the side of the house. The front porch is perfect for hanging flower baskets.

We enjoy taking multiple routes into the city. The back roads can lead to all kinds of locations. You can go shopping at the Outlets, pick fresh produce at the Farmer's Market, go hiking in the Pisgah National Forest, or head to Hendersonville to catch a play at the Flat Rock Playhouse.

Of course, we all like different things, we enjoy hiking, biking, tubing, and camping, and the Pisgah National Forest is the perfect place for all those activities. We enjoy photography and painting, and the scenery offers a lot of inspiration for different art works. There are also several places located in Candler and Asheville where people can sign up for horseback riding, which was one of our favorite summer activities.

Our neighborhood is great for raising a family or retiring. The neighbors are friendly and take care of each other. There is a true sense of community. The neighborhood and surrounding areas are peaceful and safe.

Our electric company is Haywood EMC, and the average cost is between $75 and $150 depending on the season. Water comes from well, and the electric bill for the well's pump is around $10. There are no gas or septic bills. Because the property is not within city limits, the utility costs are more than manageable.
