• 1842–1908 Rafael Guastavino, builder and architect owned the Settings property, which was part of his larger estate. A road is named in his honor!

• 2003 - The Settings Development Company breaks ground

• 2005 - first lots marketed

• 2006 through 2011, around 240 lots sold

• October 2011, The Settings of Black Mountain Homeowners Association (HOA) was established with the Declarant Rights, once held by the Developer, being transferred to the newly elect HOA along with all of the common properties, including the Club House and the Greeters Cottage.  

• 2017 - 32 completed homes, half a dozen are in design and build stage. There are 271 individual owners for annual assessment purposes.
