The things we love about Leicester is that it gets us close to Asheville and it's opportunities, yet has more affordable housing with land. The town is growing, but still has that country charm.

We love to eat at home a lot, however we do occasionally enjoy a dinner night out. Asheville has so many wonderful restaurants to choose from. Our family enjoys Vinnies Italian Neighborhood, Yao's Buffet, and occasionally even pick up a bite around the corner at Gossett's convenient store.

Grocery stores are conveniently located with in any driving direction. Ingle's Markets is the closest and Aldi's isn't too far if you like saving money. If you prefer other stores then within 20 minutes you can choose from Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, Earth Fare , or even Super Wal-Mart. Convenient stores are abundant as you can find one on every corner! Dollar General is within 2 miles of house and that can be handy.

What has drawn us to this property is family. This home was my grandparents house. My grandfather purchased the property and started expanding onto the original structure in 1944. My mom was raised here with her 4 brothers and sisters. I still have family close by and I have so many great memories of spending summers and holiday's here helping my grandparents milk cows, farm tobacco, and well just harvest and can food from the gardens. Things have changed throughout the years, but those memories and experiences is what has kept this place alive. As we have updated features of the home, we have kept the integrity and floor plan of the house.

The Asheville area is amazing for its mix of entertainment, food, and sights. From great places to try different wines and beers, to walking trails, and cultural entertainment you can find about anything to do here. Asheville is also always growing which brings about wonderful job opportunities.

Few other things I can mention is the convenience of a school walking track 1/2 mile away. Community center that offers different activities within a mile and wonderful churches you can visit within the area.

Due to our work lives and our son's athletic schedule we do not have a huge amount of time for hobbies. However, we do enjoy walks, going to movies, and gardening. I like going out and doing painting with a twist with friends, massages for relaxation and don't forget that within an hour's drive you can be in Hot Springs to enjoy a fabulous spa day in the natural hot springs.

Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The neighbors are those type of folk's you can count on to help watch out for you. Very nice, yet stay to themselves.

Utility costs to me are about normal. Duke energy we have equal payment plan of $100/mo. We have K-1 oil heating with monitor heater we spend about $450 a year for oil. A full tank lasts 2 years depending upon usage & weather temps. Waste pro has always been good about trash & recycling pick-up. We have spring water from natural spring that is great! We have charter services. Cellphone reception is spotty no matter who the carrier is.
