Seller Says:

The things we love about Mills River area are: The location is great! Only 20 minutes to the small town of Brevard and the main entrance to Pisgah National Forest for hiking/ picnics; only 25 minutes to Hendersonville for shopping/ restaurants and only 30 minutes to downtown Asheville for Biltmore Estate.

Our neighborhood is great for: the quietness of the area. There is very little traffic and it is such a beautiful area. There are only 12 houses/ 29 lots in Forge Crest development so it's a small community. There is a lot of natural wildlife to enjoy that come right up outside the house; deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, squirrels and even the occasional white squirrel (that Brevard is known for.)

We love to eat at the following restaurants: Harbor Inn next to the Asheville Outlet Mall. The food is great at a great price. La Carreta is our favorite Mexican restaurant (Arden area.) We also love to go to the restaurant at Pisgah Inn which is on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are lots of chain restaurants near the airport as well: Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, Chili's, and Sierra Nevada.

Grocery stores and other conveniences: There is a very nice large Ingles grocery with a deli and salad bar in Mills River. It has anything you would want and then some. There is also a brand new Urgent Care next to the Ingles grocery. Food Matters Market in Brevard is a great natural food store close by. Asheville airport is only 20 minutes away to catch a flight. The fairgrounds (across from the airport) has lots of events going on year round.

When we bought the property we were drawn to: The VIEWS!!! We searched for 2 years for a property that would give us spectacular views; not the "views" where you can see a sliver of a view part of the year. This property has awesome 180 degree views all year round! The first time we saw the property, we knew this is what we had been searching for and immediately purchased it and built this house.

This area is wonderful because: This house and property is so peaceful as there are no other houses even visible in our community so you feel like you have your own slice of heaven. The view is unique as it shows not only the mountains but the valley as well. Some unique features are: 1) 4th of July is spectacular at the house. You can see the firework displays all over the valley and you can see Hendersonville's large fireworks display all by just sitting on the deck at the house 2) you can watch the rain moving over the mountains and across the valley 3) this property is actually located in the Pisgah National Forest!

Other things we love about the area: We like the artsy vibe of the area. There are a lot of art galleries and craft fairs year round. There are summertime street dances and music in Brevard, Hendersonville, and downtown Asheville. Sliding Rock in the Pisgah Forest is such a unique place to bring friends visiting the area as well of course, Biltmore Estate.

A few other things we can mention are: It seems like most houses with spectacular views usually have steep drives and/ or windy roads to get to the house but the driveway to this house is flat and the road to the house is an easy drive on a paved 2 lane road. The house is only 5 minutes from the main road of Rt. 280. Turn right when you reach 280 and you're in Brevard shortly. Turn left when you reach 280 and you're in southern Asheville (Arden) shortly.

We have thoroughly enjoyed this property, and we are getting older and the house is too big for just the 2 of us. We have been running a very successful vacation rental business (vrbo #810428) with this house for the past 2 1/2 years but again, this is getting harder for us to do as we are getting older.
