The Preserve At Little Pine

Equestrian Center
The state-of-the-art Equestrian Center offers 20 stalls, 2 outdoor riding rings, and multiple tack rooms. An attached wing features multiple cross ties, washing stalls, and a farrier’s area. Just outside are several paddocks and miles of scenic trails. Homeowners at Preserve Communities can house their horses in the barn while on property.
UTV & Hiking Trails
The Preserve at Little Pine is nestled in forested mountains with featuring streams and rivers, and acres of preserved land held in conversation. There are a number of trails and scenic paths for UTVs or on foot.
Mountain Lodge
The Preserve at Little Pine's mountain lodge rests high atop Grassland Mountain at 4,200 feet, and is outfitted with the comforts of a refined mountain home, complete with large floor-to-ceiling windows, a stone fireplace, gourmet kitchen, and an inviting wrap-around porch that offers breathtaking views. It features two premier condominium units with jacuzzis, and plenty of privacy, making it the perfect gathering spot for couples or small groups.
The Observatory
Located next to the Mountain Lodge on Grassland Mountain, the state-of-the-art observatory—which is operated by the Astronomy Club of Asheville—is complete with a retractable roof and high-powered telescope. This is the ideal spot to gaze at the stars or into the distant mountains. Minimal light pollution creates one of the purest night skies you’ll find in Western North Carolina.
W.C. Ward Pavilion & Pond
A gathering spot for members and guests, with running streams that invite discovery and play. With a full outdoor kitchen, inviting stone fireplace, and rustic wood furniture and tables, families and friends can have summer parties, fall oyster roasts, spring celebrations, or intimate cookouts throughout the calendar year. Adjacent to the Pavilion is a fully stocked trout pond for fishing.
Community Garden
Both French Broad Crossing and Little Pine offer on-site community gardens that are wholly organic and fully maintained by our homeowners. It gives people a way to connect socially while at the same time nurturing a more sustainable lifestyle. Only all-natural materials are used—that means no chemicals or carbon footprint. These are both four-season gardens that rotate various crops regularly to prevent disease and safeguard the soil.
