Wonderful long-range mountain views from this brick home on one and a half acres in Candler, as well as views of a pond. Separate dining, living and den areas with fireplace. 3 beds and 3 baths. Feels very private, and plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The lower level has a rec room and separate entrance to the outside, with a bath and bedroom on the lower level. The lower level has some ceiling heights below 7ft. Bonus room downstairs, which could also be a bedroom. About 25m to downtown Asheville - a location for those who want to feel like they are private and out in the country, and yet an easy drive to everything. Whether you are dreaming of space for animals, gardening, or just space - check out this home! More photos and video coming soon.

One of the things I love about Candler is how close it is to Asheville without being in the city. There is also a sense of community and pride for the area.

From spring to fall we enjoy taking the 15 minute drive up the parkway to the Pisgah Inn. They serve great food and the views are amazing! When we are headed toward Asheville, we love to stop by Earthling Coffee to get a pick-me-up for the day. It is a simple double drive through coffee shop with great products and amazing servers!

We have multiple grocery stores a short drive from the house. There are also a lot of popular restaurants and fast food places within a 25 minute drive.

From our first viewing of this home we fell in love with the views and the space this property provides. The views from the double deck provide the tranquility we were hoping for from a home in the country. The house is also so spacious and the game room creates the perfect retreat from a busy day. The Asheville area is a wonderful place. There are so many enjoyable things to do and the mountains are beautiful all year round.

A few other things that we have enjoyed about this house are the “secret” kids playroom under the stairs and the beautiful plants all around the house. Some of the trees and plants I have identified are Magnolia, Crepe Myrtle, Lilac, white Dogwood, and Kwanzan cherry trees; Weigela Florida, summer snowflake viburnum, and rhododendron bushes; crocuses, daffodils, roses, trilliums and Japanese roses. There are also wild grapes, black raspberries, blackberries and Japanese wineberries all around the property.

While we all have different interests our family always enjoys driving up to the Blue Ridge Parkway which has so many things to offer from spectacular views to hiking and camping. There are many waterfalls that you can hike to that fit any experience level from novice to expert. We also enjoy going to the Biltmore Estate to enjoy the gardens, hiking and biking trails, the playground for the kids and the variety of animals in Antler hill village. Our neighborhood is great for peaceful afternoons enjoying the views. We have wonderful neighbors. Everyone greets you with a wave and smile. It’s also very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway which is great for hiking or just taking a relaxing drive to see the beautiful mountains.

The utility costs are pretty straight forward. The house has its own well and a septic system so we do not pay for those. Everything else runs on electricity, which makes for fewer bills to pay. On average we pay around $300 a month to Haywood EMC. In the spring and fall we enjoy the fresh cool air with the fans going. In the summer we use the AC and in the winter we have the heater going. One thing that cuts back on the heating is the fire place with the new (fall 2019) wood stove insert. It provides great ambiance and warmth on chilly days.

There is a beautiful double deck over looking the back yard and the neighbors pond. In the summer you can watch thunderstorms roll in across the valley. There is a small pond with a water fall feature above the deck. In the spring frogs enjoy singing from the pond which adds to the enjoyment of having the windows open.
